Make Creative Wedding Invitations (All You Need Is Love And A Couple Of Brother Toner Cartridges)

You’re getting married. You’ve chosen a date, found the perfect dress, you’ve got ideas about wearing flowers in your hair. You’re happy and want people to come share your happiness, witness your vows, eat some cake, and leave a gift. But how will you let them know? Because you’re also kind of broke.

Weddings are expensive! Professionally printed invitations would cut into your budget so much there would be no cake to serve.

Mass text message is very of-the-times, but a little less romantic than the vibe you’re going for. The evite–it’s convenient, true. But still, same issue.

The truth is, you want something your friends will hang on the fridge next to the photos of all your other friends’ babies. That fridge space is prime real estate in their daily lives. You want these people to celebrate your pending union every time they reach for the Rocky Road.

You’d like to try to DIY, but all you’ve got is a regular printer and a stack of fresh Brother Toner cartridges.

Ready for the good news? That’s all you need.

Really, you don’t need a fancy new machine (that would end up costing you so much more). Here’s how you can make truly sweet wedding invitations with the tools you’ve already got.

Okay, and paper. Secret: paper shopping is super fun. Get into it.

1. BUY AWESOME INVITATION PAPER

Paper is tactile and luxurious to browse through. Take your time, open yourself up to a rainbow of possibilities. You’ll know the right one when you happen upon it (sound familiar?).

Where to go? You can find terrific paper, card stock and matching envelopes in bulk at office supply stores like Staples or OfficeMax, already sized for invitations. If your guest list is on the smaller side, I like the loose paper sold at craft stores like Michael’s and JoAnn’s, for a more interesting selection. Kate’s Paperie is like dying and going to heaven, but costs a whole lot more.

2. CHOOSE YOUR WORDS WISELY

I vote for keeping it simple. This just isn’t something to sweat over. Vows, okay, but the invitation has simple work to do: Be inviting. Be clear.

Bride and Groom

Invite you to join them for their wedding (yay!)

Date & Time

Place

Reception Immediately Following

Place (if different)

RSVP*

*I highly recommend using an email address for RSVP. Create one just for this purpose: meandhim@gmail.com, say. It streamlines your keeping track of who’s coming, plus saves on paper, stamps, confusion, and bulk.

3. DESIGN

Now is the time to think about software. There are some terrific graphic design programs out there (Adobe Creative Suite is a great one), and although they can be costly, a lot of them have 30-day free trial periods.

But if the prospect of learning new software is just as overwhelming as the prospect of paying a professional, then a desktop publishing software program works just fine for more text-based invitations. You’ve got one of these. It’s got a wide selection of fonts. Enter your text, center it on the page, and scroll through the fonts. You’ll know the right one when you happen upon it (wink).

4. MANUAL LABOR OF LOVE

Put the paper in your printer. Check the Brother toner cartridge. Full? Got another one handy, just in case? Now print.

A few bonus notes: Address your envelopes by hand! Do it while you watch television. It’s a personal touch that sweetens the opening-real-mail moment deliciously. On the other hand, wet a sponge to “lick” the envelopes. Save your tongue for kisses, and cake.

The market for pubic-use and business cars will continue to develop greatly

Aristotle, the Greek philosopher, summed up the four chief qualities of money some 2,000 years ago. It must be lasting and easy to recognize, to divide, and to carry about. In other words it must be, “durable, distinct, divisible and portable.” When we think of money today, we picture it either as round, flat pieces of metal which we call coins, or as printed paper notes. They will buy nothing, and a traveler might starve if he had none of the particular local “money” to exchange for food.( http://www.linkslondon4lover.com/pendants-c-145.html)

Among isolated peoples, who are not often reached by traders from outside, commerce usually means barter. There is a direct exchange of goods. Perhaps it is fish for vegetables, meat for grain, or various kinds of food in exchange for pots, baskets, or other manufactured goods. For this kind of simple trading, money is not needed, but there is often something that everyone wants and everybody can use, such as salt to flavor food, shells for or-laments, or iron and copper to make into tools and vessels. These things —salt, shells or metals—are still used as money in out-of-the-way parts of the world today.

Salt may seem rather a strange substance to use as money, but in countries where the food of the people is mainly vegetables, it is often an absolute necessity. Cakes of salt, stamped to show their value, were used as money in Tibet until recent times, and cakes of salt will still buy goods in Borneo and parts of Africa.

Cowries sea shells have been used as money at some time or another over the greater part of the Old World. These were collected mainly from the beaches of the Maldives Islands in the Indian Ocean, and were traded to India and China. In Africa, cowries were traded right across the continent from East to West. Four or five thousand vent for one Maria Theresa dollar, an Austrian silver coin which was once accepted as currency in many parts of Metal, valued by weight, preceded coins in many parts of the world. Iron, in lumps, bars or rings is still used in many countries instead of money. It can either be exchanged for goods, or made into tools, weapons 01 ornament. The early money of China, apart from Shelly, was of bronze, often in flat, round pieces with a hole in the middle, called “cash”. The earliest of these are between three thousand and four thousand years old—older than the earliest coins of the Eastern Mediterranean.( http://www.linksukstore.com/watches-c-185.html)

Nowadays, coins and notes have supplanted nearly all the more picturesque forms of money, and although in one or two of the more remote countries people still hoard it for future use on ceremonial occasions such as weddings and funerals, examples of primitive money will soon be found only in museums.

22 what kind of gun do I have?

A family friend recently gave me a pistol that belonged to the father. I'm trying to find out what and what it is fired. It is small enough to fit in the palm of my hand and a hammer inside. It is also feeding the magazine with the word protector engraved on the slide. It seems that the model number with Spain al635 says word stamped on the other side of the slide. The grips on it are plastic with a symbol of what looks like a dragon with the same mark under the words. It appears that fires 22 short films, but want to be sure. I found a simlar astra pistol called puppy that looks like this, but the markings are different.

Astra sounds like a gun. made a lot of relatively cheap small automatic pistols. were good some quality arms. Spanish gun had several companies in the late 30 40, and 50's that made small cars such as his pocket, but the import stop with the "Saturday night special" laws which came into force in late 1960. by the way the "al635" is actually "CAL 6.35, or 25 gauge automatic

Why aren’t Halry Davidson’s allowed in the carpool lane?

I mean there is only one seat, so technically you are carpooling. I can weave my bike in between traffic when all the cards are stopped so why not? Plus Halry Riders do a lot for the community such as safety programs (like loud pipes to warn others) and they embrace clean air technology. My Prius has a small golden diamond stamp on the bumper and gets to use the carpool lane for using clean technology. Why doesn’t Halry Davison issue the same sticker for their bikes? The Harly engine burns much less fuel than other fossil fuel engines so it is green air approved. Harly’s are American bikes so they should be held in higher regard than other manufacturers and allowed certain privileges such as carpool lanes.

Your thoughts?

I don’t care if they are allowed or not. I ride a Harley and I do what I want. I ride between cars in the carpool lane, whatever. I ride the shoulder a lot too. Much faster. And everybody knows I’m coming thanks to my loud pipe, so it’s really safe.

A smart rubber stamp, sloid stamps uk introduces new products

New technology is not only IT related but happens all over – also in the rubber stamp business. In peoples mind a rubber stamp is something with an ink pad on the desk and a rubber stamp laying somewhere nearby and when a document has to be stamped then you hit the ink pad with the rubber stamp and then hit the document with the rubber stamp.

Today a modern rubber stamp comes with its own ink pad hidden inside the stamp and there is no visible sign of what used to be the rubber. The technology is called the ‘smart stamp’. The  rubber stamp in the smart stamp is a very thin light sensitive piece of plastic The text required is typed on a piece of paper and placed in a sophisticated flashing light machine. The light flashes and the plastic is now penetrated where the text had been with thousands of tiny small holes. To make it into a rubber stamp the piece of plastic is now placed at the bottom of a plastic case and on top of the small piece of plastic is a cavity filled with ink.

To make a rubber stamp impression on a document the handle on the plastic case is pressed down which again presses the ink through all the tiny small holes in the plastic – and a top quality rubber stamp impression shows.

This new technology is more expensive than the old rubber stamp technology with a separate ink pad but the quality of the impression is outstanding. The smart rubber stamp comes with a refill included so it contains thousands and thousands of top quality impressions.

The details in the impression are so good that it is possible to make a top quality smart rubber stamp that gives an accurate impression of a human face. This is just not possible using traditional rubber stamp technology.

Without doubt the smart rubber stamp quality is the best on the market.

These days it is also possible to produce a rubber stamp using a laser – but the material for the stamping is still rubber. The laser technology is very simple and easy to use. You simply type the text you want on the rubber stamp and push the button so that the laser machine will cut out the text on the rubber which is then mounted on the rubber stamp handle.

In a way you could also call this a smart rubber stamp as well since it is produced in a very smart way, but the end products would look and act entirely differently. The laser version is simply a way of speeding up production whereas the really smart rubber stamp produces higher quality results than ever possible before.
