Features Of Wedding Invitation

A wedding invitation is a formal correspondence requesting the addressee to grace the occasion of wedding with his presence. Today, many wedding couples are searching ways to express their individual tastes through their invitation and desire that it should standout from the usual flat party invitation, but without spending much. The two major factors that determine the cost of wedding invitations are:

(1)The printing process used

(2)The quality of the papers

Wedding invitations print involves one of the following methods: engraving, lithography, thermography, letterpress printing, at times blind embossing, offset printing, and more advances, on laser and inkjet printers.

Many creative couples are printing invitations at home computers using variety of software’s. Invitations can be ordered from an artist, or vendor specializing in invitations. Formal-Invitations are luxurious, have unique printed return labels, decorative seals and beautiful liners, thus an attractive way to greatly enhance quality of invitation.

One of the ideal ways to let the guests know on the fact that the wedding is formal, are the invitations. Ultra-formal or traditional invitation — on white, ivory, or ecru paper, with the wording written in black script, maybe even with a gold or silver border –could do the trick — if the invitees receive a formal invitation of wedding where it is being held, can probably helpful in giving them understanding of appropriate dressing.

Modern invitation design is persistently changing and evolving to cope with current trends. Today’s invitations generally match the style and taste of couple as well as the level of formality of the occasion. For instance, a casual beach wedding may have light, fresh colors and beach-related graphics. A formal church wedding may have more scripts and with lots of ornamentation that justifies the formal nature of the event. Therefore design of the invitation is becoming less traditional and more reflective of the couple’s taste n character.

Useful information about DIY wedding invitations includes, when to dispatch, enclosure options, wedding invitation wording, plus how to assemble and address invitations. Mostly it is mailed before a head of time i.e. typically mailed six to eight weeks before the wedding date that gives guests ample time to clear their schedules for the day and make travel plan/arrangements if they are out-of-towners.

Perfect wedding invitation for wedding could be on behalf of:

(1)Bride’s Parents Inviting

(2)Both Parents Invitation

(3)Bride/Groom & Parents Inviting (This wording suggests that couple is hosting in conjunction with your parents.)

Word “hosting” can have flexible meaning. Parents can be official hosts — they can plan the event and invite the guests. Another imperative step is R.S.V.P. response card should be stamped before sending the invitation as a courtesy for the guest to send their response easily. The reception card display the list of addresses and times of any post-wedding events, such as a cocktail hour, dinner or dance. Map or direction cards give details about the location of the wedding and reception. The accommodation information provides helpful tips about airfare, transportation or hotel arrangements for out-of-town guests. City attractions can be featured as well.

Inviting Etiquette does encompass the fact that never prints addresses with a computer always hand-write them. Do Remember, a wedding is especially a intimate and personal occasion, and invitations must reflect that. If it’s a matter of time – and got many invitations to address – can call /seek the help of loved ones or anyone else who’s has nice handwriting to plow through them. It’s just one of those polite and considered gestures that “I’m-a-great-host”. In case if addresses are got printed, such thoughtful touches are absent —which are glaringly obvious?

Shortly one should consider and give enough thought process before making choice for wedding invitation card……as fore mostly it depicts one’s personal standards.

How can I make my own embossed wedding invitations?

I really want to make my own wedding invitations. I’d also like for the writing inside to be embossed. Can I do that with a Cricut or Cuttlebug machine or similar? Can anyone recommend a machine and perhaps give some pointers? Thanks!

No both of those machines are for die cutting, not embossing.

The only way to emboss the inside is to use a wet market (or a rubber stamp with the with the whole wording on it) then pour embossing powder on top of it and heat set it. I emboss a lot and this just isn’t a good idea. Writing is too thin and small for the embossing to come out right. Dry embossing wouldn’t work either. Wet or dry embossing is a time consuming process.

Years ago when I worked in the bridal business, real embossed words where very expensive to have on invitations.
even on the site below it doesn’t look like the actual wording is embossed.

Do You Want To Save Money On Your Wedding Invitation?

According to a survey reported by CNNmoney, the average spending on a wedding is USD27,000 in 2006. This is not really a small amount of money. Indeed some couples may find that weddings are something quite expensive, if not extremely expensive. To this end, a couple will probably like to seek for different ways to save money for their wedding.

Although the cost for producing wedding invitation may not be too much compared to other items for wedding such as the cost of taking wedding photos, it is still worth lowering the cost for making the wedding cards. The cost can be controlled by different ways. Money can be saved by choosing the right material, controlling the printing processes adopted, using a ready made envelop and pay as much as attention to the proof reading of the wedding card.

Choose the right material

The material contributes to about 50% of the cost for a wedding invitation. There is no doubt that the cost of using a glass bottle will be a lot higher than using a printing card. Assuming that a couple will choose a printing card, different kinds of paper will still play a significant role for the cost of the wedding invitation.

Some people are eager to get a thicker card. However, the cost of a card, of 300gsm, say, is more expensive that a card of 200gsm. A balance should be taken for the thickness and cost. Normally, a card of 210gsm to 250gsm will be good enough since the “total thickness” will be doubled when it is folded.

Besides the thickness, the type of paper chosen also affects the cost. Usually paper with recycle contents is more expensive. A couple may still go for that even if it is more expensive since we should try our best to protect our Earth. Paper with texture and sparkling effects will also cost more. You can always ask your printer for different kind of paper in order to get the cheapest and most acceptable one.

Control the printing and post printing processes adopted

It is a common sense that things involve more processes will cost more. This is also true for printing your wedding invitation. A card with one color printing will be a lot cheaper than a card with four color printing. Of course it will be more flexible with a four color printing, but a card with only one color can also be excellent. A black and white wedding photo delivers a quality of romance which is beloved by many professional photographers.

Embossing and hot stamping are also post printing processes that will make the cost of wedding invitation higher. In fact the costs of embossing and hot stamping are usually determined by the area of getting embossed and hot stamped. A larger area will lead to a higher cost. If you really like the effects of these processes, you can lower the cost by controlling the area of embossing and hot stamping.

Choose ready made envelopes

You will certainly need envelopes for your wedding invitation. Choosing a ready made envelop will make the cost a lot lower. Tailor made envelopes can cost as much as USD3.00 each. It is sure that a tailor made envelope will be a bit more elegant and interesting since you can control not only the material used to make the envelope but also the way of folding.

However, ready made envelopes are usually good enough for your wedding card in most cases. In fact wedding invitation providers usually have different collections of ready made envelopes for you to choose from. You can try to choose the one you like most from these collections and take the idea of tailor made envelopes as the last resort.

Read the contents of the invitation carefully

You should always read the contents about the details of the wedding ceremony and reception on the wedding invitation carefully. You may need to print the whole thing again if you find that there are mistakes after all the invitation cards are printed.

As a result you should never think the proof reading is something unimportant. You will need to take extra care on the spelling of the words, and also the date and time of the wedding reception.
