Clear stamps, ink, and mounting block?
Hi,
I have been scrapbooking for a while, but I am just now starting to use stamps. A lot of the ones I bought are clear stamps. Why do you have to have special ink for them and what do you do with an acrylic mounting block? Thanks.
The mounting blocks are needed to help give an even pressure on the entire stamp when using.
The stamps come ’stuck’ to an acrylic backing sheet.
Remove stamp from backing sheet and place stamp face down on table.
Press mounting block on top of stamp.
Stamp will stick to mounting block and be ready to use.
Mounting blocks are clear because it makes it easier to place stamp where you want on your page (and to see if the stamp is properly inked before use)..
Special inks are for different papers (some papers are non porous and so special inks that will not rub off are needed)
Remember to clean stamps after every use.
